Review VSU General Assembly 16.11.2019
On 16 November 2019, the annual General Assembly of the VSU took place at the transport-CH in Bern. Part of the event was held together with the ASTAG professional group “furniture transports”.
From 09.15 onwards, the members of both associations had the opportunity to fortify themselves for the day with coffee and croissants at the ASTAG stand. While the ASTAG professional group “furniture transports” held its regular General Assembly, the VSU members could visit the fair individually. At 11.15 all participants met at the “Chalet Fribourgeoise” for a joint aperitif and fondue. After lunch, Christian Bach, Head of the Vehicle Drive Systems Department at EMPA, gave a presentation on alternative drive systems. Afterwards the statutory part of the VSU and VSU FIDI-Section General Assembly started at 14.30 hrs.
President Marcel Jörg welcomed the participants and thanked all partners for their support. In addition to the annual report of the President and the report on finances, the focus of the meeting was the adaptation of the statutes as of 01.01.2020 including the change of name to Swiss Movers Association (SMA). The Swiss movers industry is to be reorganised and the VSU and ASTAG Plus certified companies are to be merged within the Swiss Movers Association. To this end, the Assembly has decided that ASTAG Plus certified companies can obtain active membership upon written application to the SMA Board. In these cases, the granting of an objection period is waived. Furthermore, the Board of Directors has requested an increase in the number of Board members by two persons from the ASTAG Plus circle. Mr. André Widmer and Mr. Michael Juhasz were unanimously elected as additional Board members for the remaining term of office until 2021. Matthias Kaiser was elected as the new auditor, along with Urs Weber.
The meeting ended at 15.45 and those present then had another opportunity to visit transport-CH individually.
